“Show of hands: HONESTLY, who here is actually going to wake up at 4:30 every morning to work on your book before the business day kicks in?”

I’ve asked this question from stages at events around the country.

Haven’t seen a whole lot of hands flying up.

The idea sounds good on paper, until reality in the form of “life stuff” sets in.

Maybe you just don’t have time to write, or the ability to form a creative mindframe at-will no matter what time or day it is.

Being A MEMORABLE In-Demand Expert™
Gets Your Book Done A Lot Faster

One piece of advice I give is to create a blog and use your book outline to write 90 posts in 90 days.

Because you’re involving your audience in the process, and getting them excited about each day’s installment, you’ll have the motivation to create all the content you need for your book (or books, depending how prolific you are) in three months flat.

The real-time feedback you get from fans will even make it a better book!

That’s how I created my first book.

And – surprise – by reading this post, you’re participating in my real-time process of creating my next TWO books on how to become a MEMORABLE In-Demand Expert™!

Another variation of this theme is to start your own podcast and speak out your content one short daily episode at a time, allowing the expectations of your loyal fans and followers to keep your engine running.

Get the episodes transcribed, organize them into a manuscript, edit it through, and voila!

Involving Other Shows Also Gets Your
Book Written And Published Faster

Are you the type who creates your best content when someone else is pulling it out of you?

Great – that works too!

Get booked on shows and interviewed on the topics you need to form your chapters.

For a 128-page, 6×9 nonfiction book at 16pt font – thick enough to have an attractive spine on a bookshelf and still be a quick and fun airplane read – about 10-12 content-rich interviews should do it.

Get the recordings transcribed, organize them into a manuscript, take out the chatter and leave the key content in, edit it through, and voila!

Better yet – if you find yourself needing to bulk up your book a bit, include the transcript of a great interview as your “bonus”, the way I added my greatest-hits interview on “Rock-Star Customer Service” to the Groundhog book.

(Side note: do you think your show hosts, not to mention the other person in your “bonus”, might find their reasons to celebrate their own success by helping with your book launch?)
